“DAY DREAMING WITH A PURPOSE”

“DAY DREAMING WITH A PURPOSE”

So, what do you want to be when you grow up? That question may appear a little complex, but think about it for a moment. Are you--right now--who you want to be, what you dreamed you'd be, doing what you always wanted to do? Be honest. Sometimes people find themselves achieving victories that are empty--successes that have come at the expense of things that were far more valuable to them. If your ladder is not leaning against the right wall, every step you take gets you to the wrong place faster.

Imagination--the ability to envision in your mind what you cannot at present see with your eyes. It is based on the principle that all things are created twice. There is a mental creation, and a physical  creation. The physical creation follows the mental. If you don't make a conscious effort to visualize who you are and what you want in life, then you empower other people and circumstances to shape you and your life by default. It's about connecting again with your own uniqueness and then defining the personal, moral, and ethical guidelines within which you can most happily express and fulfill yourself. visualization means to begin each day, task, or project with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make things happen.

One of the best ways to incorporate this into your life is to develop a Personal commitment. It focuses on what you want to be and do. It is your plan for success. It reaffirms who you are, puts your goals in focus, and moves your ideas into the real world. Your mission statement makes you the leader of your own life. You create your own destiny and secure the future you envision.start  creating your own dream life.Because if you dare to dream ,you work for it and some day ,any how some part be
true…

LITTLE VOICE

Today, Wednesday the 12th of August is the International Youth day, a day set aside by the United Nations to raise awareness about various issues surrounding youth. This year the theme is Youth Civic Engagement. This simply means raising awareness about various ways in which youths can actively participate in issues affecting their community to make it a better place for everyone. It is no longer acceptable for youths to fold their arms, sit on the sidelines and wait for those in power to make changes in their communities. I believe these three principles will help them achieve maximum impact. KNOW IT. BE IT. And DO IT.
KNOW IT
Know yourself. Know who you are. Know your talents. Know your strengths and weaknesses. Know your limits. Know that thing you are passionate about. Know your vision. Know your mission. Know your community. Every community faces several social problems which include poverty, unemployment, gender inequality, lack of quality education, amongst others. I believe every youth must be passionate about solving at least one of these social problems. Find the one that you are passionate about. Find the one your community needs the most. Do your research. Know the basic facts and details. Know what has been done, what is being done and what could be done. Know how you can contribute your own little part to eradicate the problem. Know the skills required to achieve this. A wise man once said,”Today knowledge has power; it controls access to opportunity and advancement”. And there are no barriers to acquiring knowledge. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.
BE IT
Knowing brings you into being. Being comes out of knowing. You have to be the change you seek. You have to be a leader where you are. You don’t need a position or possessions to be a leader. Start from where you are. At your own little level, be the good president you want to see in your country. Be the good principal you want to see in your school. Be the role model you want others to emulate. Be the example you want others to follow. Define your identity. The more knowledge you acquire the better you’ll become. Be confident in who you are. Be strong and committed especially in the face of challenges. Don’t wait to get to the top to become the person you want to be. When you know it, just don’t say it, be it and don't be afraid. Princes and princesses know they might one day be kings and queens but they don’t wait till after coronation to start behaving like kings and queens. They reflect the attitude of kings and queens everyday whether they ascend the throne or not. if they can be groomed in a palace to be kings and queens what is stopping you from using the knowledge you have to become the change you seek?
DO IT
Now that you know it; now that you are ready to become the change you desire; what are you waiting for? Just do it. Doing comes out of being. When you “be” it you can do it. Stop Procrastinating. Sometimes later becomes never. When it comes to making the world a better place, no positive act is too small. Start from where you are. You might not have all the resources available or have the capacity to get all the resources available but start with what you have. The whole idea of changing the world basically deals with making the world a better place for everyone. So, if you can make the world a better place for just one person, you are on the right track. That one person might just be the future president of your country. You never can tell. Use your talents and the knowledge you have acquired to the best of your ability. Most importantly the reason for doing it should never be overlooked. Are you doing it for the right reasons? Are you advocating for a change in government just to gain power for yourself, or for the benefit of the society in general? The right things done for the wrong reason is wrong.

When opportunity comes, it’ll be too late to prepare. I believe everyone is assigned to solve a particular problem in life. As long as you live, the problem will remain unsolved if you do nothing about it. Many have died without completing that assignment. Many are not working towards it. Some have completed their assignments while others are currently working on theirs. Which group do you belong to?
So, if you are passionate about human rights, acquire meaningful knowledge about abuse of human rights and how to prevent it in your community.  No positive act is too small.
As we celebrate the International Youth Day and advocate for governments to actively engage youths in affairs of the state, I call on all youths to rise up, know it, be it and do it NOW because future generations are waiting for you to solve that one problem and make the world a better place for everyone.
